Abnormal voice production (technically referred to as dysphonia) is a very common referral source in our patient population at Evolve Speech Pathology.

Dysphonia is a condition that can be caused by a range of factors. Some of these include:

  • Muscle Tension Dysphonia (a condition we commonly see in our teaching and singing professionals)
  • Aphonia (no voice).
  • Vocal cord nodules.
  • Changes in vocal quality (e.g. hoarseness, breathiness, reduced vocal range, vocal fatigue).
  • Vocal cord palsy/palsies.

We aim to support this patient caseload with comprehensive voice assessment and analysis to then develop an individual treatment plan to optimise voice use in a safe and effective way.
